Nicholas Pincemaille arrived may 1853 in New York with his parents Theodore Pincemaille x Catherine Schumacher and they installed them in Holy Cross, Ozauke Co, Wisconsin. Pincemaille was hard to pronounce by Americains. So this family used Passmel instead. At left we see a foto of the children of Nicholas Pincemaille (Passmel) x Elizabeth Tibor.His daughter Minnie Passmel married in 1897 with John Cook. We see here again ca 1925 on a picture (at right) with 4 generations of woman starting with her mother Elizabet Tibor and at the end her grandchild Sherley Winkler. |

We have knowledge of the official change of Nicolas Pincemaille to Passmel in 1880. At his marriage in 1872 we find yet Pincemaille, but when he asked his naturalisation 18/19th September 1880 in Barnes Co, No Dakota he did it under the name of Passmel. |
