Lac de Pincemaille / Lac de Rillé
The river "Le Lathan" is going from right
to left, from east to west. After the village Rillé (Indre et Loire)
we have first the "Lac de Pincemaille" (18ha) who is used
for tourism (hotel, restaurant, plage, sailing, fishing). The water
is hold at a constant level by a dike.
Follows then the "Lac de Rillé" or "des Mousseaux" who was filled with water after the construction of the barrage "des Mousseaux" situated at the border with the department Maine-et-Loire in 1977. The water of this lake is used as a water supply for the fields in the valley of Authun, east of Angers. This lake has his maximum surface in the winter with 250 ha, but when water is used during summertime the water surface lowers till 50ha. This changes attract a lot of birds and the lake is very well known by ornithologists. |
